After a karaoke session left us famished, we stumbled upon Daimo Chinese Restaurant, a true lifesaver open until 11:30 pm. Our hunger was quickly appeased by the comforting dishes captured in the attached picture. The extensive menu offered a plethora of choices, and the quick table-side delivery of our selections was impressive. A satisfying four-star experience all around!
Daimo is one of those places that has been around for so long that you have seen its glory days when they used to open till 4am in the morning. Now those days are gone, BUT they are still open for late nights till 11:30pm which is what they are known for!
Hungry at 10:30pm looking for a sit down restaurant to eat and decided to give Daimo a go after not visiting for so long. Delighted to see this place pretty busy near 11pm on a Sunday night. We ordered their stir fried black bean sauce chicken, hot and sour soup, and fish pork ball congee. All came out super hot and delicious. It definitely hits the spot. Also the iced hong kong milk tea was surprisingly delicious and LEGIT (I'm from Hong Kong).
Service is meh, but if you speak cantonese the service is probably better. We had to wave down our waiter to get our rice and milk tea, but they eventually came. It was only 1 guy manning like 6 tables.
Stumbled on this place after a late-night grocery stop and even close to 10PM it was bustling! Authentic Hong Kong cuisine and your typical Chinese restaurant with a huge and well-loved menu and cluttered interior. I really enjoyed their congee
Daimo is our go to place for lunch or an early dinner after several hours of shopping at Marina Square Center in San Leandro. A good barometer is if my picky, highly critical Chinese mom approves, and she always does. She even had seconds. We usually order either the wonton or plump sui gow dumplings, but this time we ordered the sui gow, beef chow fun, chicken feet, tofu and veggies. Everything was delicious! Nice ambiance and quick service. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Free parking on the lot.
